For my birthday, I received an exercise ball. And I love it. Many of my friends have recommended that I swap out my computer chair with the ball, as it exercises my core and requires more active sitting. It's a great idea, but the ball rolls away from me every time I stand up. And I'm pretty sure it's the wrong height for my desk, which could cause new problems.
I came across a brilliant invention today: the BalanceBall Chair by Gaiam. It's a ball and chair in one.
The original BalanceBall® Chair by Gaiam is a revolution in office and home furniture that combines exercise and fitness with comfort and ergonomic back support for an affordable price. These exercise ball chairs have long been a customer favorite; try one and you'll see why! Based on customer comments sent in nearly every week, it appears a quiet revolution is slowly taking over the conventional office chair set-up. With chiropractic pioneer Dr. Randy Weinzoff, Gaiam developed this patented BalanceBall Chair as an effective tool for strengthening core muscles and improving spinal alignment.
Get yours here. At only $99, it costs less than a conventional office chair, and does more for your body than your current seat. And it looks fun. Anything that makes sitting at my desk appealing is already a winner in my book.
