Watch Out for that Big, Hairy Spider!

Last night my kids drew the faces they wanted on their pumpkins. Then my husband carved out the desired faces. It was the kids' job to scrape the slimy orange stuff out of their pumpkins.

As the faces began taking shape, each pumpkin seemed to come to life. While the marker drawn face on the pumpkins didn't look like much, the carved versions seemed to give each pumpkin it's own personality.

My 7 year old drew the face for her white pumpkin. I truly have never seen a pumpkin that looks so darn scared. Not scarey, but scared. I just want to give the little white pumpkin a hug and tell him it'll be okay. Watch out for big, hairy spiders, though, little white pumpkin...

Figuring it out as I go,
