I was browsing online coz I'm curious to what the experts are telling Mothers to get for the Father of their kids this coming Father's Day. I must have read about IPod Shuffler, IPods,Cellphones, laptops, Wii, XBox 360, etc, 100 times. I rolled my eyes at all of them coz a bargain shopper like me does NOT consider those "budget-friendly".
My idea of budget consists of a $23 comfortable shoes from DrScholl's that my husband needed for work so I bought him a pair last week. A treat to see Spider-Man 3 which we finally went to watch last night. Maybe a new New York Yankees hat that he casually hinted, NO, matter of factly told our 9 month old daughter, "Mommy is buying me a hat". To which I replied with a bewildered look, "I am?" . He doesn't know where to get the hat yet though so I think that's it's shelved for now.
Father's Day is not until the 17th but he has already gotten all of these. Well, there's a method to the madness and you'll realize it after reading this post. When the day comes, he'll definitely get a card and he's going to look at me wondering if there's more. I'll just look back at him then remind him of the shoes, and the movies. Now that's what I call a REAL Budget-Friendly Gifts. :D
I plan on taking him out to dinner that night too, actually. I just have to charm my way into convincing him to go to MY favorite Japanese restaurant. ;)

I think that budget friendly gifts should be the norm. My hubby will not be getting an Ipod or X box. He will be getting some handmade gifts, a picture in a frame, and his favorite homemade pizza and boston creme pie.
