It's my pet peeve that there are way too many rude t-shirts out there aimed at young girls.
T-shirts with sayings that although may seem harmless and funny, may actually have an effect on our girls on some level.
T-shirts that focus on sexuality, money or boys are mindless and demeaning, and our girls deserve better.
Carrie contacted me to let me know that her website sells t-shirts with great messages. Her smart tees bring across strong, positive messages like:
Girls are...SMART and Girls are...CONFIDENT
Girls are... is actually the bright idea of moms, Carrie and Liz. They came up with the idea after discussing the lack of positive messages out there for young girls. Their goal is to plant positive values at an early age.
I say Carrie and Liz are doing an awesome job showing their own girls how they can take something they don't like and put a spin on it. Making something positive out of something negative.
Now, how smart is that?
Figuring it out as I go,
- Lesli

Woohoo! Great idea! :)
Yup.. there's just way too much "trash" out there. I'm glad someone stepped up and did the right thing. Great job!
