Superwoman of the Day: Jenny Masche

When I'm tired, I sleep. When I'm feeling sluggish, I go for a walk. Sometimes. And on days when I'm feeling inspired, I make a mental note to take up running. I make a lot of mental notes. Apparently you need to actually put on your sneakers for this "running" business to happen.

Enter Jenny Masche. She has every reason to not go for a run. Actually, she has SIX excellent excuses to curl up on her bed at the end of the day. She's the mother of 1-year-old sextuplets. Yes, sextuplets. And yet, two weeks before their milestone birthdays, she ran a marathon. Cue my speechless admiration.

But how could a mother of one newborn, let alone six, find the time and energy to train for and run a 26.2-mile race?

“Because they’re good sleepers,” Jenny Masche told Meredith Vieira during an exclusive interview on TODAY Thursday in New York. “As soon as I put them down at 7 o’clock at night, I’d literally throw my running shoes on and my friend and I would go and run for like two hours.”

Read the inspiring article here.

Discipline, a support system and babies who sleep at night. It sounds so simple and straight-forward. And intimidating. Perhaps she'll be my inspiration for getting out the door. Since I no longer have any legitimate excuses.

Superwoman, indeed.
