Spring Has Sprung

Does the mention of the word spring motivate you to start your annual spring cleaning or does it make you want to hide your head and pretend that there is no such thing?

Depending on the year, I have been in both camps. This year, I need to do some serious spring cleaning for 2 reasons 1) my 10 month old is newly mobile and finding all the places that need a good scrubbing down (including my windows that he likes to lick) and 2) my mother-in-law will be here over Easter and will be staying in my house for 1 week. Yep, definitely a spring cleaning year for this household.

If you are like me and want (or need) to get started, here are some great resources to help out:

Join the Domestic Divas it is free and this month they have tips and tools to help you through the spring cleaning season. You will find a printable spring cleaning checklist, a fresh idea to deal with nasty grout, and other tricks.

iVillage.com has dedicated a section of the website to spring cleaning. In addition to more checklists and tips, there is also a list of eco-friendly cleaners you can use that are safe around children and pets.

And FlyLady.net is not only a one-stop resource for spring cleaning that includes daily challenges and motivating e-mails it is also a way of life. The Fly Lady way is to always have a clean kitchen sink and everything else will fall into place. If you do decide to sign-up for the full Fly Lady program, be forewarned, you will get at least 10 e-mails a day (reminders, motivation, challenges, and testimonials) but it is all free.
