One of the movies my family is looking forward to is Spiderman3. It's already out and has been declared a blockbuster making about $150 million in 3 days. We haven't had time to watch it yet. I know my son is itching for us to take him to the theaters. If you haven't taken your kids yet and wondering if you should, here's a review from Kids-In-Mind.com.
SEX -- 2 out 10
VIOLENCE and GORE -- 6 out of 10
PROFANITY -- 3 out of 10.
It's a PG-13 movie. Kids-In-Mind has posted a more elaborate review that you might want to check out before taking your kids to see this new installment of Peter Parker's journey.
My fellow blogger, Kerry from HELL has this to say regarding the violent scenes :
"The special effects were interesting, I'll give them that. I will say this: do NOT, for the love of all that's good and holy, take a child younger than 10, maybe 8 if they're good with scary stuff, to this movie. I jumped out of my seat three times, and it's violent as all heck!"
Two things we always tell our son before watching a movie to prepare him for the violent and scary scenes are, "it's not real, it's only a movie". In the end, you are the parent, so you decide.
Let us know what you think of the movie. We'd love to read your reviews.

Hi Harmony, after reading the review I don't think we'll be taking him to see it. Ratings are good and they shouldn't be ignored. The media has major influence in our kids life these days. But in the end, we the parents should be present and aware to decide what's good for them or not.

I say no. I think we are letting our kids grow up so fast and the media is making it too easy to do so.
The ratings are there for a reason and should be followed.
Yes, we know our own children and some are more mature than others - but haven't we made them that way by exposing them to too much too soon?
Keep them young while you can - they grow up all too soon.
