Nearly one in every six people owns a cell phone. That means approximately 1 billion cell phones in use worldwide – so it’s no wonder one is always going off at JUST the wrong moment.
Tired of hearing a funky version of “When The Saints Go Marching In” play during the most intense part of a movie? Well, July is National Cell Phone Courtesy Month, founded to encourage users to be more respectful of their surroundings. Use the following tips to set a good example:
• Never take a mobile call during a meeting or other gathering
• Never talk in enclosed public spaces, like restaurants, waiting rooms or elevators.
• Never have an emotional conversation in public – ever.
• Don’t use obnoxious rings. That’s only cute when you’re in junior high (and even then, not really).
• Maintain a 10-foot zone from others while talking.
• Use the vibrate function in public places.
Or here's an interesting concept - turn off the phone. Believe it or not, things can wait. Try being in the moment for a change - and don't give the people you're with the feeling you're just waiting for a better offer to ring up!
