SimplyMom: In The News

Let’s start out the week with some good news: Bruce Springsteen has been signed to play the Super Bowl half time show in January 2009. (See related story here.)

From experience, I know – any time the Boss plays is a good time. I saw my first Springsteen show way way back in 1981 (I won’t say how old I was, but I hadn’t become SimplyMom yet – I was still SimplyConfusedStudent. Ah, those were the days!). I’ve seen Bruce (with and without the wonderful E Street Band) numerous times throughout the decades; in fact, in an essay I wrote a number of years ago, I even credited my writing career to Bruce. (You can actually still find that essay online here.)

So, anyway, the Boss and I go way back, being Jersey folk and all. His performance will give me reason to tune in to the Super event this year…..since my beloved Eagles just don’t seem to be doing it.
