SimplyMom - a Whole 'Nuther Kind of SuperWoman

Hi there. I'm both humble and proud to be writing you as the newest member of the SuperWoman blog.

The first thing you need to know about me is this - I so do not belong on a blog called SuperWoman.

The idea of a Superwoman conjures up the image of a goddess in high heels helping with homework, serving up filet dinners, a tiger in the board room and a kitten in the bedroom. Or, if it's preferred, vice versa.

But I'm not really any of those things. Heck, I don't even look good in tights, so don't expect me to be prancing around in any cape and cat suit.

The truth is, I'm more like Clark Kent. Mild-mannered, investigative, curious. The guy behind the scenes, the one in a dowdy suit and horn rims, who can't really save the day unless he makes a pit stop in a telephone booth. See, I've been looking for a phone booth for years - and with the advent of cell phones, I'm realizing this kind of transformation is obsolete.

So, instead, I'm SimplyMom. The mother of five, a counselor, a wife, a friend, a Christian. I can't do it all. Sometimes I can't even find the socks I put in the dryer twenty minutes ago. But I do the best I can, I laugh as much as possible, and I love with my whole heart (even when my brain knows better).

Does that make me a SuperWoman? Probably not. I'm just doing what we all do....and I'm willing to share my struggles with you, if you'll come along for the ride. We may never reach the clouds, but I think that, together, we'll be okay with where we are.

And if we happen to find a phone booth, so much the better.
