Sex Article On School Paper, Up For Review

A sex article written for a school paper in Franklin High School Indiana has caused a lot of stirs. The article was supposed to raise awareness on STD's, contraception and misconceptions going on around the school. 17 girls were pregnant for the past years so the school paper, "Electron" decided to run it. It didn't have any sex relates pictures or anything. The school's Principal said he has no problem with the topic. But he wants to make sure if they're going to try to educate the students they need to do it right and properly. More informations should be delved into to avoid more questions after the article.

"The goal of the article, according to students, was to educate, which is awesome, which is what we're here for," McCaffrey said. "But if we're going to educate other students, we need to make sure we're doing it properly so that there's not more questions than answers at the end of the article." More Here.

The Principal is now considering to review the paper before it's released which doesn't make the writers happy.

I hope the Principal decides to run the article after reviewing it. Sex education is good at school in my opinion. As long as it's done properly and informatively I think it's a good step to take to inform students of the risks, health and life consequences that comes with sex.
