My Asian-Theme Bamboo Placemats

Before we moved into our new house, I already made the decision to do my kitchen in Asian theme. My living room used to have the Oriental scheme but I wanted to move things around. I already have the huge Fan, Oriental vases, glass, wall decors and of course some dishes, pots and other kitchen essentials. What I didn't have was Asian place mats. I looked at places where I know I could afford them but they just didn't have what I had in mind. So I thought I'd wait, instead of buying something I know I'll regret in a few months. Then my in-laws from NY came for a visit last May. I've relayed what I wanted for my kitchen and 2 months later, she called me and said I have a surprise in the mail. Here they are :

Bamboo place mats. Exactly what I was looking for. Do I have the best mother-in-law in the world or what? Even my husband was impressed. One problem though, she only bought 4. I have 6 settings in my table. She realized it when she was in the post office. She called me the day I received the package and told me she'll go back to the store and buy 2 more. She went the other day and she only found 1. Now she's hell bent on finding another one to complete my set.

I love them. Even my husband suggested other things I could do with them besides being place mats. You'll probably see them at Forks sometime :) .
