Mother Killed Son, Goes To Jail For 3 Years, Might Get Overdue Alimony When Out

Crazy title eh? Wait 'till you hear the whole thing. In 1986, Christopher and Linda Calbi got married, and had 2 kids. Got divorced in 2001, Linda had custody of the children and a $3000 a month alimony. In 2003, Linda was described as a violent drunk and after an overdose of alcohol and prescription drugs, Christopher got custody of the kids. A visit with Linda in August 2003 resulted the death of 14 yr old Matthew. Linda Calbi beat her 14 yr old son to death after he requested for her to turn down the TV. She pleaded guilty for aggravated assault and was sentenced to serve 3 years in jail.

Because of the Matthew's death, Christoper's lifestyle changed, understandably so therefore fell behind on the alimony payments and has been asking the Judge to reduce or terminate the alimony completely for eyars. In 2006, A judge granted his request of suspension BUT and this really pissed me off, Linda's request to get $40,000 missed payments was granted.

WHAT? The nerve of that mother to even ask for alimony. She kills her son and she thinks she deserves an alimony? Yesterday on Appeals court, a judge continued the alimony suspension and vacated the overdue payments request. For now anyway. Linda could still file a request when she gets out.

I swear the American justice is all screwed up. Hello Mr. O.J Simpson. I can't believe that there isn't a LAW that states, "if you kill your child and goes to prison, your alimony should stop automatically" And "if you request for missed payments when you get out, you should be sentenced for a lifetime in jail(or stoned to death for that matter) for having the nerve to ask".
