Me, The Hubs and A Chick Flick

To continue on with our home-date nights, last Friday my husband and I enjoyed sitting down to a DVD movie from our Netflix que. We knew the movie was coming. 2 days before it came in the mail I asked him if he would sit with me to watch it. He flatly refused. Saying he'd probably go online. Well fast forward to Friday night, to my surprise my husband suggested we, as in he and I watch DREAMGIRLS. This wasn't the first "chick" movie he has ever seen with me of course but this particular one he really was adamant about. In the middle of it we found ourselves discussing the storyline and even compared the depthness of both Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson. We've both concluded that they're equally good but Jennifer has that extra 'ummph" in her voice. She has a strong pull that grabs you and don't have a choice but to sit there and listen.

In the end, Hubby said "the movies wasn't bad". Amazing. If you were expecting a review on the movie and didn't get it, I apologize. This post was intended for married couples trying to spend time together while the kids sleep the night away. We don't go out much as explained in our last weekend's sushi date night so we try our best to spend quality time in our own home as much as we can. Married couples with kids will understand how it's hard to find all that balance while going through life on a daily basis. It's possible to have a "Daddy and Mommy" time. It's up to the couple to find creative ways in order to enjoy each other's company.

On another note, this just proves that planting the seeds in your husband's head while he sleeps works. I think we call it "hypnotizing" ;) . To the loving husbands out there, don't knock a chick movie without even watching it. Lessons learned I hope. :) .
