Married Mom or Unmarried Mom, Who is better?

babytalkjune.jpgThat is exactly the question BabyTalk magazine is asking everyone. There's an incentive if you fill up their survey which by the way has 2 separate ones. One for married Moms and one for unmarried Moms. You could win $1000 US savings bond. The survey is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and District of Columbia. 18 years or older. If you're not subscribed to the magazine, you can download the surverys online through Adobe Acrobat. You either Agree, Disagree, Agree Somewhat, or Disagree Somewhat.

Here are some of the questions on the survey:

A child needs 2 parents.

A child needs 2 parents who are married to each other.

I feel discrimated against because I'm a married Mom.

Many single mothers are less than responsible.

Unmarried Mom feels bad for me/look down on me.

It's a very interesting survey which I wouldn't take a part of. Don't get me wrong, I like BabyTalk magazine. I get it every month. I applauded it when it didn't bat an eye for using a nursing baby in one of their covers and defending their decision after all the backlash they recieved from people who were outraged in seeing a breast and a nursing baby right before their eyes. Granted it was in print. I guess it's more natural for young celebrities to show their body parts for publicity than a Mother trying to feed her hungry child. I feel this survery regarding married and unmarried Moms is another way of pitting Moms against each other. It's almost like the undying Mommy Wars. Who is better, the Working Mom or the Stay-At-Home-Mom? In my opinion, Neither. We are all trying our best. It doesn't matter if we're working outside the home or not, at the same token, married or not. I believe we should all help and support one another instead of comparing ourselves.

What do YOU think of the survery? Will YOU participate? If you do, it ends on June 30th so I guess you better hurry up :) .
