Loyal Loot Collective Rocks!

I'm a huge admirer of Canadian industrial designers. These creative minds design brilliant furniture and accessories for every budget and style.

In recent years, I've followed the emerging careers of Alberta's Loyal Loot Collective. The collective members - Doha Chebib, Carmen Douville, Dara Humniski and Anna Thomas - specialize in furniture, products and clothing. "Loyal Loot exhibits their work together and aims to create community in design, within the collective as well as with fellow designers," says the talented designers.

From Loyal Loot, I particularly love the Buddington Bear Rug(photo above) designed by Carmen Douville. "Using warm fabrics and traditional hooking methods, along with the silk bloodstain detail, an aggressive symbol for a hunter's trophy becomes a playful one, soft, lush and inviting," says the designer.

The Monsieur Dress Up(photo left), by Anna Thomas, has clean lines in maple with tailored collar, cuff and pocket. "Monsier Dress Up can wear your jacket, scarf, umbrella and mail," says the designer.
