I pride myself in being a stylish Mama. I abhor the generalization that once a woman becomes a mother, she turns into a washed out person who is not capable of looking "fashionable". I think it depends on the mother. I know it's easy to just let go of one's appearance especially when you have so many things going on on a daily basis. Kids, work, partner, chores, appointments, soccer games, errands, the list goes on and on. One of this blog's missions is to NOT forget about yourself. You matter just as much in your family.
But then once in a while I encounter women who are confused on the proper ways of looking good. You can, absolutely, but try to make it appropriate for your age. 2 weeks ago while I was in a store I saw a woman in her 40's wearing what I can only imagine a gradeschooler or a pre-teen should be wearing:
tank top, mini skirt over pink flower print leggings.
I can understand she's trying to look hip for her 2 teenagers but a mini skirt for a 35 yr old woman is such a No No. A 40 yr old? it should be against the law. Then you add leggings into the mix, the combination just screams total disaster.
Please, my fellow mothers out there, look stylish for your age. It's possible. If you're interested on how to achieve this, you can visit me in my styling blog. Not only do I come up with styles that will make you look and feel good, I do it in a very affordable way.
Gone are days when a woman uses motherhood as an excuse to look like, well, CRAP. Let's show people out there that gosh darn it, we are fabulous.

Fabulous post. This is actually something I've been thinking about since my last birthday. Getting older (mother or not) and still looking good. The lower brain cell count demographic of our society equates "looking good" with "looking young." What women need to realize is that it's not about looking 20 when they're 40. It's about looking good in each different age group. Does that make sense? What you wore when you were 20 may have helped your "hot" factor, but it's only going to hurt you when you're 40 and STILL wearing it.
I'm rambling - this is a topic I can't really ever choose the right words for, haha.
