"It's Mommy and Daddy Time"

With two kids it's hard to set aside a "mommy and daddy time" but we try. Like any household, we're all busy with work, chores, kids, bills, etc.. that we kind of neglect the need to nurture our relationship. It's so easy to forget that before everything else, we were a couple first. Like I said, we do try. Here are some of the things we do to have the quality time together :

Once the kids are in bed, we sit in front of the TV and watch our favorite shows.

Date night, at least once a month. This is a little hard to stick with due to the lack of a trusted babysitter. Therefore we try to maintain the activities listed below:

Every Friday, after work, we sit in our deck and just enjoy the cool breeze and the beautiful view as the sun sets. Sometimes we stay there until the mosquitos start going nuts. On me, especially.

On Saturdays, my husband and I enjoy a feast of sushi while watching a rented DVD or Pay Per View. I would either make crab rolls or sometimes buy 3 packages of tuna, salmon, shrimp or eel rolls, squid salad and california rolls. By midnight, we're usually on our living room floor with a small round table in front of us, waving our chop sticks as we munch on the sushis one by one. Wasabi and all :).

We've worked out together. On some days, during our 5am work outs, respectively, we do 45 minutes of Tae-Bo together. It's fun watching my husband be so uncoordinated, haha.

I hope you get ideas on things to do when spending time with your partner. We get so caught up in all our responsibilities we tend to forget ourselves. Just as it is important to have our own quality time, individually, we also need a "couple time".
