Heat Your Home Cheaply

Baby, it's cold outside.

The temperature seems to be echoing the economic situation, hitting record lows and making everyone miserable. And while we're all trying to cut costs and save money, we can't avoid heating our homes. In fact, right now, I'd sooner stop eating.

MSNBC.com has five great tips for saving money while heating your home:

  1. Install a programmable thermostat
  2. Install a high-efficiency furnace or boiler
  3. Add weather stripping around windows and doors
  4. Use portable electric heaters in colder rooms
  5. Use less energy to heat your water
