I will be the first to admit I think that feminine hygiene product commercials are completely unnecessary and have progressively gotten more embarrassing to watch. Really ladies, are we going to forget we need to use them?!
I returned to the world of cable recently after a 1 year hiatus and can say that I haven't missed commercials one bit. I will admit that this new Always commercial is different than most but I'm not sure how believable it is. They are claiming that girls from Africa (they don't specify where) have to miss school up to 1 week each month because of their period. These frequent absences from school lead to the girls dropping out and not getting an education. There were and are ways to handle your monthly period if pads or tampons are not available to you.
If the claims by Always are true - good on them. But you be the judge, watch the video here and let us know what your thoughts are.
