Halloween Apples!

Halloween is one of my favourite holidays...is there another time when you have an excuse to overindulge on chocolate?

Well, if you're like me, you don't need an excuse...anytime is a good time for chocolate!

But, as parents, we need to model moderation. How, in this world of excess do we begin to do that, especially at Halloween?

Do you ration your little goblins' candy after their night out in the neighbourhood collecting bars of sugar? Or do you just let them eat their way through their pile of goodies until they become sick? (Like the pumpkin pictured above...)

...Or do you secretly nibble away at their stash, pretending not to know where all of their AERO bars have disappeared to?

The way I look at it, is that as parents we don't have a salary. If we have to take our salary in the form of chocolate and candy - so be it!

I have no idea what an Aero bar is, but I can agree with sneaking a bit of candy here and there! I can't see letting my kids eat themselves sick, since I'd be the one to tend to them while they lost it all later - not to mention the sugar high they'd be on... but it's hard to say no when the candy is piled high! I'm a big choco-holic myself, and the after-Halloween candy sales are calling my name - especially since my son was too little to collect any candy this year!
