From One Mom to Another Tirade...

If you know Roseanne Barr, she tells it like it is. And sometimes that's exactly what people need to hear.

Barr wrote a little letter ( under October 19th) on her blog to Britney Spears, giving her some advice. Let's just say that Roseanne doesn't dice her words...at all.

From the point of view of a mom, (and I could almost be Britney's mom!) I feel for Britney losing her kids. But, she's obviously not mature enough yet to realize what she's doing and the impact of what she's done. The bottom line is she needs to have the revelation on her own. Not from Roseanne or anyone else.

If she doesn't find that something that turns her around, she will regret these years.

And regret is a hard pill to swallow, for anyone.

...and what did we think would become of a young girl who was sexualized at such a young age? At a time when she should have been building her inner strength and self-esteem, instead of identifying herself through her body and looks?

What do you think? Do you think Britney's problem serves as a reminder that kids need to be kids, and Britney was too busy gyrating on stage to experience being a kid? Do you think all of that attention was good for building strength of character? Did she learn how to take responsibility for herself and her actions?

Did it aid in helping her to believe in herself???

Figuring it out as I go,

- Lesli

So true. It's a sad fact that a lot of girls nowadays think they should be doing the same. I hope and pray she will wake up someday and realize she needs to be a mom to those kids and that she will realize her self-worth. She's still young though. She can turn her life around. :)
