Oprah is famous for having way too many favorite things. (I mean, how many favorites can one gal have a year?) And while it would amazing to in the studio audience when she unveils (and then generously gives away) her extravagant loves, for most of us, the list is merely aspirational. I cannot afford a refrigerator with a television in it. Nor do I particularly want one.
But this year, Oprah recognizes us, the every-women. Her holiday favorites are finally wallet-friendly, acknowledging the economy's uncertainty. Maybe tough times are healthy for us; we're forced to find value in the non-material. Making a personalized memory box for a loved one is a far greater gift than handing them a one-size-fits-all trinket from the mall. Making memories is more important than spending money.
If you act fast, you can download eight of her favorite holiday songs for free. Head on over to Oprah.com for instructions. Listen to the playlist while you deck the halls. And have yourself a merry little Christmas. I know I will.
