Everything In Moderation...

Ooooohhh! I love a good controversy...Slacker Mom vs. Alpha Mom? What a hoot! Okay, first we should refer to the Slacker Mom as a Beta Mom. Slacker has too much of a negative ring to it, and being that I sway towards the Slacker side, I would prefer it not be a negative label.

Hey, Harmony, my fellow blogger thanks for bringing this Alpha/Beta topic up! Obviously someone has too much time on their hands (besides me!). To go on television and duke it out defending who mothers better - mothers who can't find pairs to socks (oops!) or the moms who colour code their children's wardrobes. Too cute!

Let's face it, there are different ways to mother and raise our kids. But, we are more the same than different. We are all going to makes mistakes. Whether we forget about a special assemby at school or forget to get the poster board for our child's school project; whether we have one serving of veggies with dinner, instead of two, or whether we fall asleep during Winnie the Pooh, we certainly have the best intentions.

If we are trying to raise our kids to be happy, independent, compassionate and socially responsible citizens of the world, then that's what matters. As moms, we can choose not to sway to one extreme or the other, afterall, little eyes are watching...Everything in moderation, moms...
