Craft Time : Turn Diaper Boxes Into Pretty Storage Boxes

If you have a baby, I'm sure you have empty boxes of diapers just lying around in your baby's room or your hallway. Instead of taking them to a recyling place, why not recycle them yourself and make use of them anyway you want? I came up with pretty storage boxes that Wal-Mart or Target stores are selling for about $20. Yeah they're pretty and all but if you can make one, and save money and be earth conscious, why not eh?

Materials :
Diaper boxes, or any boxes
Wrapping papers from Dollar Store
Scissors, Tape, Steak Knife, Tape

INSTRUCTIONS:
First, I run my steak knife through the "sleeves/flaps".

Pick any wrapping paper you want. I used wrapping paper tissues from the Dollar Store that I saved for my scrapbooking. It's amazing how beautiful they are. I couldn't throw them away. Now I found another use of them. You can also use leftover wrapping papers you've got in hand. Or buy ones from the $ Stores with different prints.

Wrap the boxes, just like you're wrapping any gifts. Simple.

Use however you want. I've stored cookbooks in my boxes. I have so many booklets, and magazines of recipes that my mother-in-law loves to send me. And I love to cook and collecting that has anything to do with cooking, I save 'em all. They used to be all over the baker's rack but now they're neatly stored in the "recycled diaper boxes".

I'd rather do this and be "GREEN" at the same time, no matter how minuscule it might seem than buy them at Wal-Mart or Target. We may never be hardcore "GREEN LIVING" family but we do recycle and love to help out as much as we can. Next boxes emptied out will be wrapped and used in my son's room. I'm sure he's in need for a total organization.

FYI : I made these just this morning. It didn't take me that long at all. Once inspiration got to me, I was on a roll :)
