Britney Spears Is NOT A Fat Mama

Let's forget about her lackluster performance from the recently concluded VMA's. Let's forget about all the not so promising news surrounding this Princess Of Pop. Let's forget about her divorces, her failed 2 marriages, her partying, her mothering and parenting skills. I want to talk about her weight. After that boring and awkward come back performance which is so uncharacteristic on Britney's history of being a performer, people made fun of her look. Let's ignore the revealing outfit for a second. What is so sad about it is that allegedly, Britney was crying backstage saying, "i looked like a fat pig".

I remember reading comments when pictures of Britney surfaced 3 months after she had her second child. She looked great for someone who just had a baby. If we go by society's standards, I guess. Some people were jovial while others were cynical. "Oh I bet she had a tummy tuck". Maybe, but maybe not. I know for a fact that it's possible to lose 35 pounds 3 months after a woman had a baby. Coz it happened to me. 3 months after my second child I looked better than I've looked in years. I lost 37 pounds, exactly. With the help of breastfeeding, light exercises in the morning and probably lack of sleep.

Fast forward to last Sunday, Britney is criticized again for her weight. Now she's fat. Wait a second. Look at her. She's a mother of 2. She looks great compare to me who is also a mother of 2. She may not look like when she was singing "Opps, I did it Again" but she still looks good to me. Just because she doesn't have her hard 6-pack abs, that doesn't mean she's fat.

Which brings me to our human need to criticize Women's body. Especially the ones in Hollywood. We point at Nicole Richie's picture and call her anorexic. We yell at our TV thinking the Olsen Twins might hear us when we suggest they eat a couple of pork chops to look normal. We find ourselves enthralled when tabloid US Weekly magazine releases their yearly edition of who's thin and who's sickly thin edition. But then we turn around, in a flick of a finger and call somebody like Britney who actually looks healthy considering all the alcohol she's probably drinking,,Fat. What kind of society have we become?

When somebody looks good, we cynically assume they had a tummy tucked as soon as they pushed the baby or had a c-section done. I've had 2 babies, I don't know if you can have something like that done medically possible. But what do I know? We pretend to worry about a "skinny" girl's health meanwhile calling her anorexic while chatting it up with friends. Then we call someone like Britney who has had 2 babies, with maybe a few stomach rolls here and there, yet still looking fit, a Fat one.

Is this the kind of lesson we want to teach our daughters? Like I said, forget all about the bad press, her bad habits, her not so good performance, or if you just plain hate her. Forget about that for a second. Look at the pictures above, again, please. If you think she's a Fat Mama, well then something is definitely wrong in our society. Shame in all of us!

And if Britney Spears is fat, then I am a hippopotamus.

Tummy tuck or not, I still think she looks good. Oh and these people who are saying she's fat, they are not exactly stick thin are they? LOL.

Thanks Lesli. Yup, I know I looked good. But it's still not as "skinny" as Britney in those 2 pictures. Which brings me to my last statement :)

I've seen the video. Talk about obsessed..lol.
