With the Beijing Olympics coming, I'm noticing an increasing interest in Chinese culture.
I've come across several exciting new books on China. Award-winning Toronto authors Jeffrey Alford and Naomi Duguid have written Beyond the Great Wall: Recipes and Travels in the Other China.
The book combines unforgettable photos, stories and exotic home-cooking from "ethnically diverse, geographically varied and intriguing regions of China."
Have you cooked any new Chinese dishes lately? I have tried some new ones. In their book, the authors offer recipes including:
Mongolian Hotpot
Chicken Pulao with Pumpkin
Hand-rolled Rice Noodles
Kazakh Stew
Tibetan Rice Pudding.
Check out the authors' website.
