Back To School, Hello 4th Grade

So how was everyone's back to school morning? If you are a parent of a Kindergarten you're probably anxious right about now. Well, you will be on that state until your child comes home later this afternoon. I remember my son's first day of Kindergarten. I kept looking at the phone. I bugged my husband to death into taking a drive to the school. It was definitely an experience. Through the years, the feeling of anxiousness lessened but accompanied with " Holy cow he's in 1st grade". And every year I looked forward to the day he waves goodbye at me as he enters his school bus. Grade school parents will understand me. And you will too next school year :) .

My son is now in 4th grade. Boy how time flies. Next thing I know he's in college. He has been looking forward to this day for a while. Just like any other kids, he couldn't wait to start using his school supplies. Speaking of supplies, things have changed through the years. Now Teachers have lists that parents have to buy before school starts. Whatever happened to just going to school with a new bag, few pencils, a notebook, a new eraser and a box of crayons? Now schools ask for a box of wipes, paper towels, 5 rules notebooks, 5 of 2-pocket folders, and so one and so forth. Supplies are now demanded not spontaneously bought. It makes it easy for the Teacher thought out the school year I guess but as a parent it kinda brings me back to my own school days. It's just completely different now.
