Baby Blues or PPD?

Do you know the difference? According to Babyfit, nearly 80% of women who just had a baby experience a letdown after delivery. But how could you tell if it's the Baby Blues or full blown post partum depression? Here's a list of sympotms to differentiate the 2:

BABY BLUES:

* Sadness
* "Let down" feeling
* Teary, crying easily
* Moodiness
* Tiredness
* Signs last up to 2 weeks
* Usually goes away after time and rest

POST-PARTUM DEPRESSION:

* Constantly feeling restless
* Irritability that doesnt fade day-after-day
* Feelings of sadness that last more than a few hours or more than one day
* Frequent and inexplicable crying
* Persistent lack of energy
* Inability to sleep, despite fatigue
* Weight loss or weight gain that is extreme
* Feelings or fears that you will harm the baby
* Guilt
* Feelings of inadequacy
* Excessive anger
* Lack of interest in your newborn
* Intrusive thoughts
* Inability to make decisions
* Symptoms last longer than two weeks

To be honest with you, I experienced Baby Blues after I each had my babies. My first one was unbeknownst to me but my husband said I showed all the signs. With the second child I was sure I had it again.
