Artsy Kids

If you have kids who love to draw and color, you'd like to cultivate that talent as they grow. My son has started his love for Art since he was 3 years old. I remember going through papers every week because he just kept coming up with all his magnificent work of art. Thank goodness for $ Stores.

A good way to encourage your kids to continue with their love for art is by letting them make cards on special occassions. Whenever there's a birthday in the family or his friends, instead of buying a card from the store, I tell him to make one instead. It's definitely not just limited to birthdays, they can make cards on Mother's Day, Father's Day, Christmas or just everyday cards. All they need are crayons, papers and creativity. You'd be surprised of the masterpiece they could come up with. And who doesn't love recieving a colorful card made especially for them?

Example #1 : My in-laws are visiting us for a week so I told my son to make them a card.

Example #2 : A pop-up card he made for his sister when she was born. I thought it was very clever how he made it into a pop-up. Artsy indeed.

Now the big challenge is which ones to keep and which ones to throw away. If you're like me, you'd love to save all of them. Don't ask me how coz I haven't figured it out myself, much to my husband's chagrined, :) .
