Anna and Kristina's Grocery Bag

Have you found that dishes you've tried from glossy cookbooks sometimes just don't turn out? I've had that experience many times.

So I'm excited about the new W Network television show Anna and Kristina's Grocery Bag. A twist on the regular cooking show, the hosts will test out recipes. They will select one, buy ingredients, test appliances and food prep techniques. The idea is to find out if average cooks can recreate these cookbook recipes.

I've long been a fan of hosts Anna Wallner and Kristina Matisic and their first show The Shopping Bags. It is a really informative consumer product testing program.

Says Anna: "We're excited to be turning our attention to the kitchen, a room filled with so many product testing opportunities. But the potential for disaster is big since we're no experts when it comes to cooking!"

Anna and Kristina's Grocery Bag premieres in September.

I am so disappointed in this show. It's such a good idea, but you two smart gals act like duffusses, which we know you are not. It is SO phony. Is that just to make funny TV? Because it's not, it's just embarrassing.

To see two mature young women not even reading a recipe ahead of time, not knowing how to prep things ahead of time, and then going through the agony of all the stuff they didn't check and that should have been done ahead !!! is painful and embarrassing.

I have many friends your age who laugh at you because they know it's so stupid that anyone your age would not check the recipes ahead, do the prep, and pull off what you are making such a mess of, with out breaking a sweat.

So when I ask my 30 - 40 year old friends if they watch, they dismiss this show as crap. And that's a shame because you are both smart gals and the concept of the show is so good and has such potential. But someone in your production company has steered this WAY off so it's just an embarrassment and portrays our young family cooks as total idiots.

I so wish somneone would put this on the rails because it could be so good.
