This Sunday April 22nd, is Earth Day.
Global warming has been a part of our vocabulary for some time and enough still hasn't been done on a big enough scale to make a difference. Yes, there are many campaigns and documentaries out there, many magazines put out a "green" issue for April but other than a bigger awareness what really has changed?
What my family is going to be doing this Sunday is trying to live with respect for our planet and consume wisely. We will not be using our car that day, we will not use any products or food that come in a package that can not be recycyled, and we will ensure electricity is used sparingly. There is so much more than can and needs to be done even if it is inconvenient.
Take a page from our book, walk to a local park and bring along a picnic. Put everything in reusable containers, pack your cloth napkins and enjoy your surroundings. Take the opportunity to teach your children the importance of taking care of Mother Earth.
How will you celebrate Earth Day?
