A Boy In Day Care Died After Mouth Was Covered W/ Tape

A 2 yr. old in Tulsa Oklahoma died while in Day Care after his hands were bound and his mouth was covered with tape. Vicki Leigh Chiles is being held without bail for first-degree murder. She said the boy wouldn't hush up and refused to take a nap so she retorted to bounding the little boys's hands and taping his mouth.

How can these kind of people work at a day care center where one of the obvious requirements is patience. Should the Adminsitrators make sure the screening process is solid. I mean, we are talking about kids and babies here that need a lot of attention and understanding. Apparently, this woman was the only one working at that time and she was handling 8 kids, 7 yrs. and under.

I'm not saying all day care centers are bad, but news like these are one of the reasons why I'm a SAHM. This is not the first time I've encountered a horrendous news involving a day care center. Last year alone, there were at least 10 cases in the State I live in where a day care center worker is arrested for negligence or the establishment is under investigation. I'm pretty sure this news won't be the last one either. Sad, but there it is.

I found out about this yesterday; Mom saw it on the news and told me. I couldn't believe it. I'm enraged.

It's made me start considering the...I don't know how to put this and make sense..."qualifications" (?) a person should have before opening/working at a daycare center or babysitting service. Not that disturbed people such as this woman wouldn't be able to slip through.
