My son turns 9 years old today. I should be jumping for joy. Woohooo, 9 more years and he'll be in college which means he's out of the house. NOT. Quite the other way around. I'm a little depressed. I actuallly cried myself to sleep last night. He is just growing up so fast. In a few years he'll have girls trying to get his phone number. It has started actually. He got in trouble at school because he snapped at a girl classmate who was staring at him. I told him it's because she likes him. I should know, I'm a girl too, hah.
We all have dreams for our kids. We want them to be Doctors, or Lawyers, etc. But at the end of the day all we could hope for is that we raise someone decent, responsible and happy. We hope that someday each of our children have a life that they can be proud of with someone they love and someone who will love them back, respectively. And if it's in HIS will, grant us lots of grandkids to spoil with sugar and toys :).
We want the best for our kids. But I know I'm not the only one who feels that sometimes the days would just freeze so you could enjoy another minute of their childhood and innocence. My son is 9. For my sake I hope he'd still let me shower him with hugs and kisses in public. That's not too much to ask, is it?

That was a sweet post... I look at my 8 year old son sometimes and wonder what I am supposed to do with this boy - he's not a little baby boy anymore like I think he is...
